18th Century Lancashire is changing from medieval to modern. Its the dawn of the Industrial Revolution. Cotton is king: steam powers machines, cotton mills are built, and mines provide coal for these energy-hungry contraptions. Moving coal requires canals, then railways, and innovation leads to further innovation. In this game, the opportunities that arise will be different each time you play as you move through the Canal and Railway periods, striving to get return from your investments in time to snatch the next opportunity from under the noses of your rivals.

Brass is set in 18th century Lancashire at the beginning of what would eventually be called the Industrial Revolution. It starts at the beginning of the Canal Age and ends after the development of railways. Players take the roles of entrepreneurs attempting to make the most money from the various industries of the time. Cotton dominates the game but players ignore the other industries such as coal mining and engineering at their peril.
